NCPass™
IRD holds an eight year contract with the State of North Carolina for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of eleven truck pre-clearance sites.
These systems allow vehicles enrolled in the NCPass™ Program to bypass the weigh stations following a check of their credentials and safety history. To be included in the program, users pay an annual fee and elect to carry a transponder for electronic identification. The State Highway Patrol reviews the carrier's application and authorizes participation.
