The WIM Specialists
IRD has the right WIM for your next project - large or small
IRD’s Single Load Cell (SLC) Scales are extremely accurate and durable Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) scales. The SLC scales have earned a reputation for reliability, low maintenance, long scale life and unmatched accuracy over the past 30 years, making them an excellent choice for long term vehicle weighing. They can be used at all speeds – from slow speeds on ramps to highway speeds on the mainline.
IRD-PAT Bending Plate scales fit the requirements for WIM applications including traffic monitoring, overload detection, toll applications and data collection for road maintenance and planning. The Bending Plates are robust with excellent long term stability and a life span of more than 10 years. Bending Plates can weigh vehicles traveling over the scales at speeds between 5 km/h to 200 km/h.
IRD’s Slow Speed Weigh-in-Motion (SSWIM) Scale is a high accuracy, low speed weigh scale ideally suited for commercial fleet axle weight monitoring and axle weight compliance. This scale has been optimized for accurately weighing vehicles at low speeds, typically between 0 and 20 km/h. IRD’s SSWIM scales are easy to install and offer a low life cycle cost and low system operational cost with a high accuracy. This makes it the ideal choice for checking the compliance of axle weights, axle group weights and Gross Vehicle Weights.
The Lineas® Quartz Sensor is an accurate, easy to install WIM sensor that dynamically measures wheel and axle loads and determines gross vehicle weights. The sensors have excellent long-term stability with a wide measuring range from slow to high traffic speeds.
Piezoelectric sensors are a cost effective sensor used for permanent or temporary installations where a lower degree of accuracy is sufficient, such as for collection of traffic data. These sensors are available both as a Class I sensor for WIM applications or as a Class II sensor for counting and classifying vehicles based on axle detection.
WIM Electronics
The iSINC Electronics forms the core of IRD’s traffic and truck Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) systems, controlling numerous functions and processes for multiple applications. The iSINC is designed to accommodate new and future applications.
