Fleet Telematics
Fleet telematics from IRD, using FleetSphere web-based software, can save your company money. It doesn’t matter if you have a large fleet of long haul trucks that operate across the country, or a small fleet of service vehicles that operate within a city.
These cost savings can be accomplished in a number of different ways:
Fuel Savings: Fuel prices continue to rise at a steady rate, and are a large portion of operating costs. By monitoring and adjusting driver behavior you can reduce excess fuel consumption caused by harsh acceleration and breaking or excess idling. Also, by monitoring the routes and vehicle locations in real time, you can ensure that the closest available service vehicle responds to the next required customer need, shortening travel time and fuel spent.
Route Productivity: Monitoring the routes and vehicle locations in real time allows you to better respond to changing customer requirements, and obtain better productivity from your fleet. By analyzing truck routes and customer trends over a period of time you can further optimize the best routes to reach peak areas.
Reduced Maintenance costs: By monitoring vehicle mileage, battery condition, and other maintenance parameters you can optimize your preventative maintenance costs. Monitoring driver behavior can also reduce wear and tear on critical components, which can significantly reduce maintenance costs.
Accident reduction: By using fleet telematics to ensure that all your vehicles are well maintained and your drivers are driving responsibly, including not speeding, you can reduce accident costs. This includes repair & insurance costs as well as loss of productivity costs.
Data indicates that, in 2011, fleets using Telematics solutions had an average ROI on fuel and hardware savings of $185 to $255 per vehicle per month.
IRD's all-inclusive Fleet Telematics package includes:
- The GPS Tracking device already configured and ready for use. Any faulty device will be replaced free of charge during the length of the contract.
- We install everything for you.
- Price includes our SIM card and all the cellular traffic for communication between the GPS tracking device and our FleetSphere data center. No hidden cellular costs.
- You have unlimited use of our FleetSphere web-based software. Multiple users have full access 24 hours a day via the internet.
- Customer care and technical support service, via toll free phone number or email.
Optionally we have packages where you can purchase the equipment from us and only pay a low monthly fee for the FleetSphere web-based service. You can install the equipment or have us install your purchased equipment for you.
Service Plans
IRD has 4 levels of service plans. Pick the plan that’s right for you.
All plans track vehicles in real time on an interactive map, with geofencing capability, and trace historical movement, and allow “Request Current Location”. They also show speed, direction, and time of event.
FleetSphere Basic: Low cost for simple fleet management. Plan includes movement alerts, and daily and historical movement reports.
FleetSphere Plus: For more comprehensive fleet management. Has all the features in the FleetSphere Basic plan, plus optional data such as ignition cycles, driver behavior, road segment speed limits, and others.
FleetSphere Pro: Designed to give a wealth of information for larger fleet vehicles. Includes everything in the Basic and Plus plans and can add features such as 2-way communications, navigation interface, driver scoring, road segment speed limits, diagnostic reporting, ECM fuel consumption, PTO events, and more.
FleetSphere Custom: Includes advanced solutions for custom fleet operations. These include specialized hardware and software for snow plow trucks, emergency medical services vehicles, street sweepers, solid waste/garbage trucks, explosives monitoring, overload permit compliance, and nuclear materials transport.
