PHILIPPINES ATC DATA COLLECTION

Project Name: Philippines ATC Data Collection
IRD Contract #: 10331
Client Name: Tyco Integrated Systems
End User: Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)
Contract Value: $802,287.00 USD
Date of Award: April 2004
Date of Completion: Expected Completion Date: June 2005
Location: There are 578 sites of Data Collection to be installed throughout the Philippines.

Project Description: IRD has supplied data collection equipment including counters, sensors, and data analysis software. The sensors for this project are class 2 BL type piezoelectric sensors, inductive loops, and road tube. Varying configurations of traffic counters / classifiers (TCCs) will collect volume and classification data to help the DPWH plan for future road usage.

There are three (3) types of site configurations. These are: four lane (two direction) sites of Loop-Piezo-Loop (LPL), two lane (two direction) sites of LPL, and two lane (two direction) sites of Road Tube. The piezo sites are further divided into what are termed "permanent" and "portable" sites. The difference between the two is that the permanent sites will have the counter collecting data for extended periods (one month or more) while the portable sites will have the counter collecting only up to one month before being moved to another site.

IRD will also provide installation supervision and training for this project in the Philippines.
