Location: 20 km west of Bogotá.
Project Description: This project consists of two (2) single direction weigh stations. Each has a Bending Plate DOS sorter providing mainline sorting vehicles with a Windows terminal at the station house. The static weighing system will be provided by other members of the concession and provide weight enforcement.
The mainline sorter system consists of a Mainline Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system and Station Computer. Components are based on DOS / Windows computers, and operate independently of each other.
The mainline sorter has a bending plate sensor array and IRD’s standard DOS WIM software for vehicle detection and evaluation, and is connected to a single arrow fiber optic sign. When a vehicle passes over the sensor array, it is examined by the system. The computer will perform weight compliance checks against its legal limit. If the vehicle is in violation, the computer will activate the fiber optic sign, directing the vehicle into the station.
The roadside computers and scale house are connected by a single link, and the vehicle information is sent from the mainline sorter to the scale house as collected, where it can be viewed through a communications application.
