FACATATIVA RAMP SORTERS

Project Name: Facatativa Ramp Sorters
IRD Contract #: 10283
Client Name: Concesiones CCFC S.A.
End User: Concesiones CCFC S.A.
Contract Value: $159,198.00 USD
Date of Award: October 2003
Date of Completion: April 2004
Location: Near the city of Bogotá on the highway to Medellín.

Project Description: IRD supplied two (2) ramp sorters to CCFC, as well as installation and installation supervision. This contract also included an extended 2-year warranty and maintenance. The names of these two (2) sites are Río Bogotá and Corzo.

IRD Ramp Sorter Systems weigh commercial vehicles in motion prior to the Scale House in order to determine whether a vehicle should be permitted to bypass the static scale or if it must report for further inspection. In addition to sorting vehicles, the system also collects and stores vehicle information, which can then be used for analytical reporting.

This IRD Ramp Sorter System includes two (2) major sub systems. These are the Ramp WIM and the Station Terminal. The Ramp WIM system includes electronics, inroad sensors, a WIM scale, and a Lane Control Signal (LCS). The system gathers the data from the inroad scale and sensors, creates a vehicle record with this data, and generates a sort decision which is displayed to each vehicle. The data is then displayed on the Station Terminal.
