Project Description: IRD installed an advanced Weigh-In-Motion Screening system at the Hillsborough Weigh Station facility in North Carolina. This facility includes both a mainline and ramp WIM screening system, coupled with Vehicle Identification technology and integrated into the State’s CVISN system. This system provides the state with the ability to perform complete electronic screening of vehicle safety and credential information as well as compliance checks of vehicle size and weight limits.
This system provides the state with a highly advanced design which has become the model for deployment at numerous other sites throughout North Carolina over the next five (5) years.
