Location: Near the border of Brazil. The Unix Systems are located on Ruta’s 1, 5, 6, 8, and 11.

Project Description: This weigh station project was for the supply of three (3) Windows SSWIM systems, one (1) UNIX SSWIM system and four (4) UNIX BP/SSWIM systems.

Windows Systems

SSWIM scales connected to a standard desktop computer running an early version of the current SSWIM for Windows software. The system requires operators to control start/stop of processing. These three (3) systems are located at border locations with Brazil.

UNIX Systems

A total of five (5) unix systems were installed (one does not have Bending Plate included). This system (located on Ruta 8 entering and leaving Montevideo) is used at a toll site but contains the same software as the other four (4) sites. The remaining four (4) sites are all mainline sorters (Bending Plate) with a SSWIM scale used for enforcement.

Each of these systems is double-sided with standard level of automation (loops for tracking, vehicle processing etc), gate and light control, license plate entry, classification entry, and has citation writing capability. A recent upgrade now allows the vehicle record to be output via a serial port for integration into a customer supplied video system.
