Project Name: Thailand DOH WIM Sorters
IRD Contract #: 10580
Client Name: T.M.S. Engineering Co. Ltd.
End User: Thailand Dept. of Highways
Contract Value: $783,500.00 USD
Date of Award: September 2005
Date of Completion: April 2006
Location: Five (5) sites across Thailand, near the city of Bangkok
Project Description: This project consisted of the supply of seven (7) mainline sorter systems using the iSinc platform and single load cell scales. The scope of the project included the provision of road sensors, cabinets, software, manuals, and installation supervision.
The mainline system sorts violating vehicles into the weigh station based on allowable weight limits for the region. The sorting decision is conveyed to the driver via two VMS signs. As the vehicle approaches the weigh station a VMS displays the ramp speed for the weigh station. The system triggers the enforcement control system (ECS) camera(s) to freeze an image of the violating vehicle as it crosses the mainline WIM sensors. The image is displayed at the operator’s workstation in the weigh station. At least one lane of AVC was located adjacent to the WIM lane to detect vehicles running scales and to collect traffic data. This job included multiple data collection lanes in the opposing direction.
The number of weighing lanes and data collection lanes varies for each site as follows:
Installed Sites:
- Hing Kong: 10 LANE WITH 1 SCALE
- Cholburi: 9 LANE WITH 1 SCALE
- Tatamnuk: 8 LANE WITH 1 SCALE
- Bang Pae: 4 LANE WITH 1 SCALE
- Suwingtawong: 4 LANE WITH 1 SCALE
Sites to be Installed in late 2006:
- Bang Pai: 4 LANE WITH 1 SCALE
- Sikew: 4 LANE WITH 2 SCALE
