Project Description: IRD provided an AVC100 multi-lane time interval recording counter and classifier. This system allows IKUSI to collect vehicle classification data at 30 sites, and collect WIM data at three (3) of the 30 sites, for the specified classes of vehicles in Portugal for a shadow toll application. The 29 sites consist of a total of 121 lanes distributed as follows:

1 site with 3+3 lanes
1 site with 4+4 lanes
1 site with 1+1 lane
19 sites with 2+2 lanes
5 sites with 2+3 lanes
2 sites with 2+2 lanes (including WIM data)

This system provides highly accurate count and classification date for multiple vehicle classes as specified by the Portuguese Highway Institute (IEP). Its accuracy is confirmed by continuous video monitoring of all lanes of traffic at all sites.
