Location: The three (3) plazas are located in the city of San Pedro Sula. Bulevar del Norte is located along the highway from San Pedro Sula to Puerto Cortes. Bulevar del Este is located along the highway from San Pedro Sula to La Lima and Atlantic Litoral. Bulevar del Sur is situated along the highway from San Pedro Sula to Tegucigalpa.
Project Description: In October of 2003, International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD) received a contract from Suministros de Equipos de Tráfico de R.L. (SETRA) to supply 15 lanes of IRD’s Toll Collection System at three (3) separate plazas in Honduras. The system provides operators with automated toll collection and audit capabilities, as well as a video audit system which authenticates the accuracy and precision of the vehicle classification.
The toll system is a conventional post classification, open system installed at three (3) plazas. Bulivar del Norte (the North Plaza) consists of four (4) lanes of toll, Bulevar del Este consists of five (5) lanes of toll, and Bulevar del Sur contains six (6) lanes of toll.
