Project Description: IRD supplied, integrated, and provided installation supervision for three (3) toll plazas, with a total of 20 lanes. The system is a post-classification system incorporating Single/Dual tire sensors to enhance the classification capabilities. An Operations Control Center and video audit discrepancy recording system is also included.
The Toll Collection System is equipped with two (2) separate sub-systems: the plaza computer and lane controller.
The plaza computer configures and maintains the tariff and operator files and forwards this information to lane controller computers at the plaza site. Vehicle data from the lane controllers is received by the plaza computer and stored in the plaza database. A supervisor may use the plaza computer’s status and event log windows to monitor traffic in individual lanes and may also run a variety of reports on payment and classification information.
The operator of the toll booth uses the lane controller and its console to log in, log out, control various signs and gates, choose payment methods, and to classify vehicles. The controller also receives information from the system sensors and uses the information to classify vehicles. Class and payment information is stored and forwarded to the plaza computer for reporting purposes.
