SASKATOON, SK November 18, 2016 – International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD) announced today that it has partnered with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) to launch a new weigh station bypass system, NJPass, for commercial fleets and drivers operating in New Jersey. NJPass will facilitate truck bypasses at all three inbound New Jersey weigh stations for commercial vehicles participating in the service. Traffic statistics show that over 150,000 trucks encounter these three weigh stations on an annual basis creating a need for a traffic management tool like NJPass.
“The technology allows compliant vehicles to keep moving past weighing facilities, saving money on fuel and time on routes. NJPass will assist New Jersey State Police and NJDOT to strike a balance between identifying violations, improving highway safety, and facilitating efficient travel for the commercial vehicles using their roadways. It will aid in the reduction of traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions around the stations.” said Eric Hooks, Sales Manager for NJPass.
NJPass is offered by IRD, a leading traffic management technology company, which provides a wide variety of intelligent transportation systems, including traditional weigh station technology, virtual weigh stations, and remotely controlled weigh stations.
