Saskatoon, SK September 22, 2015 - International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD) will be exhibiting at the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Conference & Exhibition from September 27-30, 2015 at the Convention Centre in Charlottetown, PEI. IRD, which is celebrating 35 years in business this year, will be featuring advanced traffic data collection systems using weigh-in-motion and the newly developed VectorSense™ sensor suite.
According to Rod Klashinsky, IRD's Vice President of Sales & Special Projects, "Over the years, IRD has greatly expanded our intelligent transportation system (ITS) offerings beyond Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) systems. Today we offer comprehensive integrated ITS solutions. IRD's iSINC® electronics provide the basis of networked traffic data systems worldwide. Agencies are able to use the iSINC® as a WIM controller, but they can easily add more features as needed by integrating machine vision, automatic vehicle identification (AVI), and other technologies. IRD can even provide fully managed data services to jurisdictions, as we do in the State of Hawaii."
IRD will be demonstrating the VectorSense™ tire sensors at TAC. VectorSense™ is a new in-road sensor technology that provides individual tire footprint data. This additional and advanced vehicle data offers agencies more accurate vehicle classification and lane position for traffic data and toll systems. This system also enables enhanced safety checks, such as detection of under-inflated tires, for commercial vehicle screening systems.
